Every day, there are more and more places I am slowly discovering here in LA. So for those of you who have been asking for recommendations while you're in town, {in addition to my local food finds} I thought it would be fun to share with you pairings of spots to eat & shop that I'm currently loving in LA. Each pairing will always be in the same neighborhood or in close vicinity to one another...
...shop for striped socks and vintage vases inside the hot pink structure known as the Paul Smith store on Melrose, then dine at the newly opened converted barn restaurant, Eveleigh, on Sunset {loved the pork belly, frozen dark chocolate sandwich, and amazing ambiance!}.
{photos by Paul Smith & Evesleigh, both spots are in/near West Hollywood.}
...and then cozying up inside...
{1. Ilse Jacobsen rain boots, 2. Jean Paul Gaultier striped umbrella {via Bonnie}, 3. shopper by Kate Spade, 4. Keepcup, 5. chocolate truffle cookies from The Cravory, 6. deer candle snuffer from Terrain, 7. J.Crew slippers, 8. Donna Wilson blanket.}
As we prep for lots of rain for the next week here in LA, all I can think about are floods of rainbows. So this bottle of olive oil by Antico Frantoio Muraglia kind of makes my heart race. I am sure the oil inside is divine, but the bottle it's housed in is kind of the icing on the olive cake. Have a great weekend, friends...see you back here on Monday!

You know when you want some pie, but you just want a tiny taste of it? Simplethings Sandwich & Pie Shop makes the tiniest of pies {ones that you'd imagine kittens would eat} that are perfectly sized for sharing or eating in multiples {which is what I often prefer doing while in the company of good friends}. While they make sandwiches, pot pies, and larger scale pies, too, their "cutie pies" are kind of the newest object of my affection. Two of my favorites...the french silk {chocolate mousse} pie and the salted caramel pie...mmmm....
...this is all kinds of amazing...this must be what my dreams look like...

Where Williamsburg, Brooklyn
Time 12:15pm
What's a typical lunch for you? A sandwich like this one from Bakeri in Williamsburg. It has brie, figs, honey, and candies walnuts all on a baguette. It's incredibly rich but a delicious lunch for a very cold day.
What's your dream/ideal lunch? My dream lunch includes calorie-less nachos.
Dessert with lunch? Not usually, but I am a sucker for a good chocolate chip cookie. Tate's are the best.

I'm not sure where I've been that I am only just discovering Richard Haines' blog, What I Saw Today...but I'm loving it. Haines captures mens' street fashion, not with a photo, but a sketch..."He's like the Drawtorialist," as Bob says. ;)

who: Megan Gonzalez, stationery designer at MaeMae Paperie
why megan rocks: This girl knows how to rock the typography I tell ya! Megan is most well-known for her gorgeous wedding invitation designs & her colorful, quirky aesthetic.
in her closet: I found this Fei blouse at a second hand store in Scottsdale. I love the shape and length of the sleeves and the coral/red color behind the print. It's perfect tucked into my purple shorts with lots of charm necklaces and a bun on the top of my head!
in her casa: In our library, one of the walls is covered with pages ripped out of an old show poster book I got at a used book store in La Jolla. When we moved into our new loft, it had so much blank wall space that I was so intimidated. While unpacking, a page fell out of the book and the next thing you know I'm ripping out all the pages and pinning them into the wall at 2 AM.
